The mid May fishing has been a little hit and miss, but the good days have been GREAT!  Having been on the water every day we’ve got a taste of both.  Water conditions have been low and clear but the weather has been very pleasant.  This past week I have floated 4 days and waded a couple days as well, targeting both trout and smallies. It seems the bass are just starting to get on the beds a little and responding well to streamers and ocasionaly top water flies.  Trout fishing this week we did very well fishing streamers on sink tips.  Unfortunately we haven’t experienced many good hatches lately.  Any day that could change though.  My clients experienced a couple of first this week.  Below is a picture of James bringing in his first fish on a fly. It was a beauty 17″ smallmouth bass.  Doug, in the featured image above, with his first trout. A 20″ rainbow.  Congratulations guys.  It was great to be on the water with you and hope we can wet a line again soon.  Good to finally see a little rain in the forecast… We really need it!  The season is here, the fish are turning on, and what more can we ask for?  Just another day in paradise.- J.A.
