We finally got some rain! Definitely helped the water flows around. Could still use more rain but we’ll take what we can get. Things are flowing a bit more right now than they had been but still fishable. The Winooski is up and a bit off but still fishable. Lots of leaves in the water right now which can be annoying. Sometimes we’ll put mono weed guards on our streamers this time of the year to help eliminate leaves getting fouled up on the fly. The trips lately have been doing pretty well. Getting into some good mid day and evening dry fly bites and getting fish nymphing as well. Temps are ranging in the Mid 50s right now for the most part but some water did cool off a bit more with the rain we got yesterday. Lots of BWOs hatching right now. Mid day on cloudier days they’ve been coming off and have been coming off in the evenings almost every day. We’ve also still been seeing quite a few caddis flies hatching. The streamer fishing should be decent right now as well, that push of water should’ve gotten fish more fired up. Some fish may have left the main rivers and pushed up into the lower stretches of some of the smaller tribs as well. Browns tend to do that as they’re prepping to spawn. If you see fish on beds avoid fishing to those fish as they should remain uninterrupted, the pre spawners will be getting pretty aggressive and should be willing to chomp some bigger streamers.  It seems like lots of the fish have moved into some of the slower deeper water in the past few days. Still picking away at some fish in the quicker water but we’re definitely noticing a pattern of slower water now. Good luck to everyone getting out. The fishing could be awesome over the next week!!
