The fishing has been good so far today for our guides. Frank did pretty well on a river spin trip this morning catching a variety of species using a Raven Pencil float to dead drift night crawlers through the deeper runs and pools. Other morning trips yielded plenty of Brook trout and Rainbows. Mostly taken on dry flies such as beetles, stimulators and ants. We are in for some scattered thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow but it doesn’t look like anything too significant. As mentioned in previous posts, if you’re looking at getting onto the bigger rivers I would suggest fishing them in the morning as that will be when the water temps are in the best conditions. By noon over the next week or so we should expect to see the bigger stuff hitting 70 degrees and higher. This would be a good time to hit the stillwater lakes for bass and other species such as pike and pickerel. Good luck to those of you getting out this evening or tomorrow.
