The fishing has been great lately! Started to see even more consistency on top in the evenings. Been getting a lot of fish nymphing and still fishing streamers. A variety of nymphs have all caught fish, don’t worry too much about fly patterns just make sure you keep your fly in the water. The fishing has seemed to be pretty good throughout the day, more activity on dries later on but Bob and I fished for about 45minutes yesterday around 1:30 and I think we hooked 20 between the two of us landing about a dozen. Mostly this years stockies although I got one bow right around 20″ nymphing a deeper run. The water temps are starting to rise pretty quick, can definitely wet wade from here on out. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to start bringing a thermometer with you over the next week or so as water temps may start to get a little warm later on after several more hot, dry days.
Yesterday we picked up fish in a few shallower riffles as well as deeper, swift moving runs. The sun didn’t seem to put off the fish at all for us but a few more degrees in water temp and things on the larger rivers may become more morning and evening oriented. The fishing everywhere over the next few days should be excellent! Get out there and get after them! Don’t forget, our Summer hours are now in effect, Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm and 9-5 on Sunday. Free Casting Clinics are happening as well, every Wednesday from 4:00pm-5:30pm and Saturday’s 9am-10:30am
