The fishing has remained very good for us over the past few days. Although the day time temps are getting pretty warm the night time temps are remaining very cool which is allowing us to fish the mornings on the larger rivers without running into water that is too warm. The evenings are another story, some of the bigger rivers are warming up enough during the day to make fishing them in the evenings not a great choice. The smaller tribs are all still fishing well, water isn’t too low yet either. We’ve had reports of Drakes up on the Lamoille and Winooski over the past few evenings as well. Our guides have been doing well on the Lamoille primarily nymphing with some dry fly action as well. Swinging an unweighted soft hackle right under the surface can be a killer way to get fish too. The Bass fishing has been pretty good too! The smallmouths are still in pretty close to shore on the Reservoir allowing us to get at them with topwater flies and streamers easily. The next five days are going to be pretty hot and dry, be sure to get out in the early mornings or switch it up and hit some of the stillwater lakes for the Hex hatch!
