The cooler weather and rain we’re getting today is really going to turn things around for the trout fishing. Water temps will be cooling off and coming up in level which is exactly what we needed! Hopefully we get a lot of water to really turn things around. These cold flushes of water coming into the rivers will stir up lots of bugs and other food for the trout creating a buffet for them. The cooler temps will also increase the feeding activity of the fish so get out and take advantage of it! Anywhere you find increased flows and dirty water fish bigger attractor nymph patterns or big stonefly patterns along with streamers. In the muddiest conditions, streamers generally out fish nymphs as the fish feed more with their lateral line than eyesight and big streamers will put out more vibrations than nymphs. We going to receive more rain today and tomorrow then we will have a bit of a break from it until Thursday when we receive more. This should set us up for a good start to the week for trout fishing. Temps will warm up as the week progresses but at least for the early part of the week we should be able to get out on the larger streams around and find temps in the low 60s.  The bass fishing has remained pretty good as well, things may slow down with this cold front coming through but in a few days it will be back to normal. Hit the small-mid size streams if the bigger rivers come up too much. Good Luck!!
