We hope everyone had a great weekend! The fishing has continued to be pretty awesome, we definitely saw some warmer temps towards the end of the week but it looks like we’re kind of in the clear on hot weather at least for the immediate future. Forecasted rain should keep water temps on the cooler side as well. The rain over the past couple of days has seemed to be pretty localized where it’s come down heavy versus where it’s sprinkled. Even this am, it looks like a few areas have picked up quite a bit of rain, where here in Stowe it’s sprinkled for 5 min all morning. Tomorrow looks decent, then Wednesday it does look like we may pick up quite a bit of rain. Just what we don’t need. But, way cooler temps at night which will be super helpful!
Over the past few days we’ve spent most of our time on the small to mid sized streams where the flows were more manageable, both the Winooski and Lamoille have come up quite a bit, they’re both shooting straight up right now, both of which likely will not come down to a fishable level before the rain on Wednesday. Some of the mid sized tribs will be in great shape by tomorrow morning, and the vast majority of the smaller mtn streams are good to fish right now! Good luck to everyone getting out! We’ll try to update the report after the rain Wednesday!
