The fishing has been fantastic over the past week. We’ve spent a lot of time on the Lamoille river with great success! Dries and nymphing have produced plenty of fish! Been seeing some fantastic ant hatches along with some really good BWO activity as well as some ISOs. The water temps have crept up more than we’d like to see today but that’s what happens when it’s 95 degrees out. Looks like tomorrow and Friday are going to be relatively warm but we’ll see some rain and beyond friday air temps will start to drop again. The big river fishing could be really really good by the early part of next week. All depends on what we see for rainfall.
The brook trout fishing has been pretty good lately, as much as we hate to say it, the water on the small streams is starting to get kind of low, and they could use a bit more water in them! Still plenty of activity with fish eating dries, but they’re definitely more spooky than they’ve been.
If you’re trying to get out over the next few days, fish the smaller tribs, or hit some of the mid sized tribs early before they warm up. If we do see some significant rainfall it may be a good time to go throw some larger streamers! Good luck to anyone getting out, we’ll try to provide an update on Friday or Saturday if the conditions have changed.
Last but not least, mark your calendars for our High Water Sale, September 8th, 9th and 10th! There will be giveaways, sales on almost everything in the shop along with Free Demos on Saturday!
